Waxing Crescent Moon

Sagittarius · 23.0%

Daily reference: noon · America/New_York

A beginning takes shape through small steps. Experiment, observe and strengthen what feels meaningful.

In Sagittarius, the Moon expands the search for meaning, learning and new perspectives.

The relationship with Jupiter, through a Trine, suggests room for cooperation and integration. The aspect is still moving toward exactness.

02 · A closer horizon

The Moon in your city

Find out when the Moon rises and sets and where it is relative to your horizon. For today, its position refers to the time of your request; for other dates, to local noon.

Your location is only requested after you take action. Your selected city stays in this session. Approximate coordinates may remain in a technical cache for up to 7 days, without being linked to your profile or included in shared links.

Type at least 3 letters and choose a city. Search uses GeoNames and, if needed, Open-Meteo.

Being above the horizon does not guarantee visibility: clouds, terrain and light conditions are not taken into account. Eclipses in the calendar are global events, not predictions of local visibility.

03 · Understand more, observe better

Understand the lunar calendar

One Moon, different perspectives. This calendar combines calculated astronomical phenomena with a symbolic astrological reading — two distinct ways of looking at the sky.

Moon phases and illumination

The phase depends on the angle between the Sun and Moon as seen from Earth. The disk shows the illuminated fraction, while the four main milestones mark the instants of the New Moon, First Quarter, Full Moon and Last Quarter. The eight phase names describe intervals in the cycle, not events that last an entire day.

The Moon through the signs

The Moon sign corresponds to a 30-degree sector of the tropical zodiac. Moving from one sector to another is called an ingress. Interpretation connects these sectors with themes of attention and experience; it does not describe a physical force or determine what will happen.

What does a void-of-course Moon mean?

In this calendar, the period begins after the Moon's last exact major aspect with the Sun or the planets through Pluto before its next sign ingress. We use conjunction, sextile, square, trine and opposition. This is an astrological convention; other schools may use different criteria.

Aspects and the rhythm of the day

Aspects are angular relationships. An applying aspect is moving toward exactness; a separating one has already passed it. The orb measures that angular distance. The noon list is a snapshot of the day, while the timeline shows the calculated exact instants.

Lunation, lunar age and observation

A lunation runs from one New Moon to the next. Lunar age measures time since the previous New Moon without assuming that all cycles have the same length. Moonrise, moonset and altitude depend on location; the Moon's apparent orientation also varies with the observer.

Method, times and limitations

Calculations use Swiss Ephemeris. Events are numerically refined in UTC and displayed in the indicated time zone, including daylight saving rules. The reading is geocentric, symbolic and non-deterministic; it does not provide medical or financial advice or replace personal context.
